Giraffe Art Print "Más vale tarde, que fea" (Spanish)

Some people are late because they missed the bus. And then there are the people who are late because, according to their calculations, they definitely had enough time to shower, get dressed, do their hair, have breakfast and probably squeeze in a face mask too.

This funny Spanish print features a giraffe wearing fabulous fuchsia heart-shaped sunglasses alongside the phrase “Más vale tarde, que fea” — roughly, “better late than ugly”. Basically, a very specific life motto for people who refuse to rush their beauty routine.

It’s a fun piece of Spanish wall art for a bedroom, teen room or creative space, especially for that person who somehow never seems to be completely ready. It also makes a funny and unexpected gift for a friend, sister, roommate or anyone who has a complicated relationship with being on time.

And there’s actually some science behind the eternal “I’m almost ready”. People who are frequently late may fall into the planning fallacy, a cognitive bias where we tend to underestimate how long future tasks will take. Some research also suggests that people who are often late may be more likely to underestimate how much they can fit into a limited amount of time. Basically, their brain genuinely thinks there’s enough time.

Available in several sizes, from A5 to A3, so you can choose how much space you want to give this very questionable philosophy of punctuality.
