Here we've hit a nerve, and that's because this illustration is very close to my heart. My mother is Galician, and going to Galicia every year is a must. I think it's the time of year I look forward to the most. Countryside, family, animals, and cool weather. Sleeping with a comforter in summer is priceless.
I remember that when we were little, we'd spend about 2 or 3 months in the village, and coming back was... THE DRAMA. Telling two girls who had been running wild for 2 months that they had to go back to the city and be separated from their grandparents is not a good idea. Even now, post-holiday depression is tough, so imagine it when we were little. That's why "morriña" (homesickness) is that print I have hanging above my computer, reminding me that Galicia is close.
